Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of hands-on professional experience working in a refinery environment.
- Strong understanding of refinery operations, process engineering principles, and downstream oil and gas operational challenges.
- Advanced Excel skills for data mining, analysis, reporting, and KPI development.
- Ability to build productive relationships with technical specialists, frontline operators, and senior client stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing project demands in a consulting environment.
- Willingness to travel approximately 80% of the time to client sites across Canada and the United States.
- Ability to work onsite in refinery environments.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, cleanse, and interpret refinery operating data using Excel and analytical tools to identify performance gaps.
- Develop dashboards, KPI frameworks, and management reports to translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Work directly with refinery operations, planning, maintenance, and engineering teams to implement sustainable improvements.
- Support quality giveaway reduction, hydrocarbon loss control, and energy-efficiency initiatives.
- Collaborate with client stakeholders to clarify responsibilities and embed new, effective ways of working.
- Track measurable operational and financial outcomes across multiple client engagements.
