Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate's degree or equivalent education is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced, team-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate diplomatically and professionally in potentially stressful situations.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills, with consistent attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Computer proficiency and technical aptitude, including the ability to work with Microsoft Office applications and Excel spreadsheets.
- Ability to remain composed and professional under pressure while handling sensitive or time-critical requests.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively within a collaborative team.
- Strong customer-service orientation and commitment to accurate, timely, and professional communication.
Responsibilities
- Handle incoming calls related to precertification requests and provide timely, professional support to callers and stakeholders.
- Verify and maintain accurate patient, provider, and facility information within the applicable systems.
- Enter service requests, notes, and other relevant information accurately into the CareMC system.
- Provide administrative support to the utilization review and case management functions, including report preparation, correspondence, file handling, and form completion as needed.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders through telephone, written correspondence, and other communication channels.
- Manage multiple priorities and assigned requests efficiently while meeting established deadlines and service expectations.
- Maintain accuracy and attention to detail when handling sensitive healthcare information and documentation.
- Support departmental objectives and complete additional responsibilities as assigned.
