Job Details

Strong software engineering background with solid computer science fundamentals.
Demonstrated experience designing and shipping distributed data systems.
Practical understanding of architecture, contracts, state management, and failure modes.
Ability to work effectively with ambiguity and define clear technical scope.
Strong ability to translate product requirements into architectural designs and implementation plans.
Experience working across multiple programming languages and technologies.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for distributed, asynchronous environments.
Demonstrated ability to influence engineering standards and mentor other engineers.
Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools.
Ability to operate independently in a remote-first environment.
Experience with data lakes and modern storage formats (Parquet, Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake) is a plus.
Experience at companies where data is a core product is a plus.

Translate product requirements into robust technical solutions by modeling domains and defining interfaces.
Break complex initiatives into well-defined, sequenced pieces of work for team delivery.
Drive high-impact architectural decisions and own critical components end-to-end.
Design and build systems for large-scale data ingestion, processing, and storage.
Raise engineering standards through design reviews, testing practices, and technical mentorship.
Collaborate with product teams and stakeholders to clarify requirements and define scope.
Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools while maintaining high standards for code quality and correctness.
