Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive accounting and financial management experience.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles.
- Demonstrated experience leading month-end and year-end close processes.
- Proven experience with grant and contract financial management.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience working with cloud-based accounting and financial systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
- Ability to work during Eastern Time Zone business hours.
- CPA or advanced degree preferred.
- Experience with Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Online, Ramp, Paylocity, or Martus preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting and financial operations to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Lead monthly and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll accounting.
- Coordinate annual financial statement audits and regulatory filings.
- Support CFO in developing annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
- Oversee financial management of grants and contracts, including cost allocations and funder compliance.
- Collaborate with internal teams to build financial management capabilities and provide training.
- Develop and document financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
