Requirements
- Staff-level data platform engineering experience.
- Proven ability to set architecture across organizations and influence stakeholders independently.
- Deep production-level experience with dbt.
- Deep production-level experience with a modern cloud data warehouse.
- Experience with a modern data orchestrator (Dagster experience is a plus).
- Hands-on experience with managed ingestion tools (Fivetran, Sling, dlt, AWS DMS).
- Hands-on experience with reverse ETL tooling (Hightouch, Census).
- Self-directed with the ability to turn ambiguous business requirements into scoped, prioritized tasks.
- Comfortable working in the open on a public codebase.
Responsibilities
- Architect and manage the internal data platform end to end including Snowflake sizing and cost, dbt transformations, and orchestration standards in Dagster.
- Manage ingestion tooling (Fivetran, Sling, dlt, AWS DMS) and reverse ETL processes (Hightouch, Census).
- Design and implement warehouse access controls and security protocols.
- Reduce cross-team dependencies and manage platform reliability including alerting, data quality, and cost monitoring.
- Address technical data backlog and perform data work related to organizational growth.
- Partner with engineering teams on SLA-carrying pipelines like billing and consumption pricing.
- Use Dagster daily and provide feedback to the product team based on internal usage.
