Requirements
- Minimum one year of experience in customer service or collections.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws/regulations related to collections.
- Understanding of legal proceedings regarding repossession, foreclosure, liens, and bankruptcy.
- Proficiency with computer-based collection-tracking systems.
- Ability to analyze and evaluate situations affecting loan assets.
- Understanding of collateral protection insurance (CPI) and GAP insurance concepts.
- Understanding of debt protection, repossessions, and ACH setup.
- Ability to work rotating Saturdays and extended hours as required.
- Knowledge of Symitar and Temenos systems is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage high volume of outbound and incoming member calls regarding delinquent and overdrawn accounts.
- Contact members with past due accounts, loans, and Visas to discuss balances and obtain payments.
- Set up repayment schedules and establish payment plans within policy guidelines.
- Complete complex tasks associated with collection, closure of delinquent accounts, and negative shares reports.
- Manage a queue of delinquent accounts and make recommendations for repossession or charge-off.
- Prepare files for collateral recovery and submit for management approval.
- Provide guidance to teammates and branch staff and assist with training new staff.
- Review internal processes and provide recommendations for improvements.
