Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, History, Political Science or equivalent; Master’s in Health Care Administration, Paralegal or Legal degree preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience with regulatory compliance in a health care/insurance benefit administration environment.
- Experience with regulatory compliance research and federal regulatory issues involving HIPAA, GLBA, and GINA.
- Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word and Excel); experience with Westlaw, StateNet, or similar research tools is desired.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise strict confidentiality in all matters.
- Must be able to work from home in a designated area with a stable internet connection (50/10 Mbps minimum required).
- Experience with health insurance contracts and certificate forms is helpful.
Responsibilities
- Research, track, and implement privacy requirements related to laws, regulations, accreditation, and industry best practices.
- Monitor new laws and regulations and present updates to the Privacy Office management and compliance committees.
- Assist with internal assessments to identify and remedy privacy compliance concerns.
- Ensure regulatory agency and contractual deadlines are met for assigned responsibilities.
- Provide guidance to departments regarding privacy-related regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Prepare responses to external audits and support third-party privacy audits.
- Assist with data privacy impact assessments and the resolution of identified risks.
- Support the maintenance, review, and development of privacy-related policies, procedures, and training materials.
