Requirements
- Staff-level experience in building, operating, or improving complex production software systems.
- Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails or Go.
- Experience contributing to large-scale, mature product codebases.
- Deep knowledge of modern DevSecOps workflows (Git, CI/CD, merge requests, security controls).
- Experience with AI-assisted software development, agentic workflows, and AI governance.
- Proven ability to diagnose complex system behavior across infrastructure, observability, networking, and APIs.
- Experience partnering with strategic customers or senior technical stakeholders.
- Ability to drive coordination across engineering and field teams without formal authority.
- Strong written communication and sound judgment for creating technical narratives.
Responsibilities
- Contribute production-quality code, bug fixes, and features to GitLab and adjacent systems.
- Engage directly with strategic customers to diagnose complex problems across application code, infrastructure, and CI/CD workflows.
- Drive production-oriented adoption of the GitLab Duo Agent Platform.
- Develop customer-safe adoption patterns for AI-assisted development and agentic SDLC.
- Create technical narratives, whitepapers, and reference architectures to shape industry approaches.
- Coordinate across Product, Engineering, SRE, and Customer Success teams to drive technical resolutions.
