Requirements
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience building and operating backend services in production.
- Demonstrated experience in backend service design, defining service boundaries, contracts, and data ownership.
- Business-level fluency to read, write, and speak in English.
- Fluency in TypeScript and Node.js, with experience in edge runtimes.
- Hands-on experience with monorepo tooling at scale (Nx, Turborepo, or similar).
- Understanding of build-graph correctness as a product concern.
- Experience working across cloud boundaries with an understanding of latency and cost implications.
- Ability to communicate technical decisions effectively in writing.
- Proactive embrace of AI and emerging technologies to elevate workflows.
Responsibilities
- Design and build the Nest.js service scaffolding that lets product teams stand up new backend services in our next-generation monorepo.
- Implement paved paths, generators, and the platform primitives that make a new service work on day one.
- Build the seams that let new services run independently of existing monoliths.
- Own the deployment story for services on Cloudflare and interoperability with AWS and Kubernetes via Pulumi and Argo CD.
- Lead migrations of substantial codebases into the monorepo using repeatable recipes.
- Partner with product teams to drive platform adoption and resolve friction.
- Raise team leverage by encoding knowledge into tools and agent-assisted workflows.
- Participate in engineering citizenship activities like co-authoring blogs and leading hackathon teams.
