Requirements
- BS degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with 16 years of experience, or MS with 14 years, or PhD with 10 years.
- Extensive experience with aircraft or weapon system gas turbine engine performance and operability.
- Knowledge of gas turbine engine design and operation, including usage of performance models.
- Basic programming skills in NPSS, C++, Python, or MATLAB.
- Ability to conduct technical assessments, including specifying airworthiness products and processes.
- Understanding of engine operability, control, transient performance, and test performance assessment (ground, altitude, and flight).
- Ability to work in a team, justify technical positions, and communicate effectively with customers.
- Secret security clearance.
- Proficiency with MS Office tools.
Responsibilities
- Participate in aircraft platform and engine team meetings and critical project milestone events.
- Ensure projects related to engine performance and operability meet expectations and align with Engine Management Plan goals.
- Provide timely, accurate, and clear performance technical assessments detailing issues, root cause status, and program risks.
- Execute installed or un-installed engine performance models and provide accurate data reports using standard work processes.
- Communicate technical recommendations to team leaders, SE, BDE, and the branch manager to enable project progress.
