Requirements
- B.S. or M.S. (or equivalent) in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, or chemical biology
- 3-5 years of experience focused on data curation
- Strong track record of data curation with an understanding of patent processes and patent databases
- Ability to interpret chemical structures and biological data
- Familiarity with ChemDraw or similar chemical drawing software
- Experience using spreadsheets such as Excel, Google Sheets, or LibreOffice Calc
- Familiarity with scientific databases and chemoinformatics resources (e.g., PubChem, PubMed, ChEMBL)
- Basic understanding of regulatory agency databases (e.g., FDA)
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including fluency in English
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative, start-up environment
- Basic understanding of Python for data processing and automation (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth research, curation, and interpretation of scientific data from the drug discovery-related scientific and patent literature
- Maintain high levels of rigor and accuracy in data curation and analysis, as well as the construction of databases
- Interpretation of chemical structures and biological data
- Contribute to data research and curation across a range of projects
- Maintain familiarity with the biopharmaceutical industry, including an understanding of the R&D process and key players
- Contribute to a positive culture within the Scientific and Data teams
