Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with data specialization.
- Expert level experience with No-SQL (e.g., Mongo, DynamoDb), relational (PostgreSQL), and columnar data stores (Snowflake).
- Deep data design skills including indexing, normalization, and warehousing.
- Proficiency with IAC tooling such as CDK, SAM, Serverless Framework, or Terraform.
- Experience with data pipeline orchestration (Dagster, Airflow) and streaming pipelines (Flink).
- Experience with data replication and change data capture (CDC) tools like Kafka, DMS, or AirByte.
- Deep experience with cloud-native architectures and AWS services.
- Experience with observability tooling such as Datadog, New Relic, or CloudWatch.
- Strong understanding of data privacy, access control patterns, and secure coding practices.
- Test-driven mindset with experience defining test strategy at the product level.
Responsibilities
- Create reusable infrastructure as code (IAC) to manage and provision database resources.
- Implement and test logical and physical database backup and recovery schemes for disaster recovery.
- Evaluate and select appropriate data stores and tools for application needs.
- Develop paved roads for database infrastructure to reduce friction and enforce best practices.
- Establish organizational standards for data schemas, sharing, and access layers.
- Mentor senior engineers and provide technical leadership across multiple teams.
- Drive secure coding practices and data privacy principles at a systemic level.
