Requirements
- 18–20 years of professional experience in data engineering, data warehousing, and business intelligence.
- 6 years of dedicated experience working with Google Cloud Platform.
- Active Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer certification.
- Expertise in GCP data stack: BigQuery, BigLake, BigQuery Omni, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Apache Beam, Dataproc, Spark, Hadoop, Cloud Composer, Airflow, and Pub/Sub.
- Experience integrating Confluent and Kafka with enterprise data platforms.
- Knowledge of Looker, Vertex AI, and BigQuery ML.
- Experience with dbt, GKE, and Kubernetes.
- Led at least two enterprise-scale, petabyte-scale cloud migrations.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or Pulumi).
- Experience leading and mentoring large, cross-functional teams in Agile/DevOps.
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Define long-term roadmap and architectural strategy for enterprise data platforms on Google Cloud.
- Design and oversee modern, self-service data architectures that balance decentralization with centralized standards.
- Lead end-to-end enterprise cloud migrations, specifically from AWS to GCP.
- Architect and implement scalable data ecosystems for petabyte-scale workloads.
- Establish robust data governance and security frameworks covering IAM, VPC Service Controls, and encryption.
- Drive Infrastructure as Code practices using Terraform or Pulumi.
- Lead and mentor large, cross-functional engineering teams in Agile and DevOps environments.
- Advise executive stakeholders on architectural decisions, technical risks, and business value.
