Requirements
- 5+ years of attack and penetration testing experience in a network environment OR 5+ years direct experience in security research, malware analysis, or incident response.
- Knowledge of corporate security investigation and incident response processes.
- Solid programming skills with scripting languages such as Python.
- Knowledge of attacker and red team tools and frameworks (e.g., Cobalt Strike, Metasploit, Empire, Mimikatz, impacket, CrackMapExec).
- Proficiency with network traffic analysis and network forensics tools (e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump).
- Strong knowledge of networking and network application concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, TLS, FTP, RPC, DNS, SMB, Kerberos).
- Experience with host forensics and memory analysis tools.
- Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, and analysis skills.
- Ability to work remotely without close supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform leading edge security research for network based threats including systems analysis, APT threat modeling, and protocol analysis.
- Develop detection capabilities in collaboration with Data Science teams to incorporate into the product.
- Participate in efficacy testing, producing gap analyses, attack samples, and remediation recommendations.
- Research and understand attacker TTPs to serve as a subject matter expert.
- Replicate attacker techniques and tooling to produce samples for detection validation and gap identification.
- Provide an attackers-eye-view of evidence presented by Vectra products to educate customers.
