Requirements
- 4–7 years of U.S. privacy experience in a regulated industry (healthcare, health tech, health plans, or financial services).
- Direct HIPAA experience strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience in at least two of the following: privacy incidents, individual rights/DSAR, privacy assessments, vendor/BAA governance, or training.
- Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable guidance.
- Strong judgment in balancing privacy decisions with business operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluency with AI tools for research and analysis with sound judgment regarding data privacy.
- Experience with AI governance and evaluating AI use cases involving patient data.
- Collaborative approach with a focus on building scalable processes.
- Familiarity with 42 CFR Part 2 or minor consent requirements is a plus.
- Relevant certifications such as CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPT, CHPC, or CHPS are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Operate and improve the privacy program by maintaining policies, data maps, and controls for HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and state laws.
- Track and report on privacy risks, metrics, and remediation progress.
- Triage privacy inquiries and manage HIPAA/state privacy rights workflows, including access, amendment, and deletion requests.
- Support incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Conduct privacy assessments for products, workflows, and vendors involving PHI or sensitive information.
- Partner with the AI Governance Program to evaluate AI and machine-learning use cases for data protection and compliance.
