Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, natural resources management, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- For Level 3: 5 years of experience in project management related to environmental law, regulation, permitting, and monitoring.
- For Level 4: 8 years of experience in project management related to environmental law, regulation, permitting, and monitoring.
- Deep knowledge of Clean Water Act (CWA) and NPDES/AZPDES frameworks.
- Proficiency in project management principles including project charting, milestone tracking, and budget management.
- Experience with surface water monitoring protocols, QA/QC data procedures, and inspection methodologies.
- Familiarity with Lean tools, workflow automation, and the Arizona Management System (AMS) framework.
- Demonstrated ability to translate technical environmental data for leadership and public audiences.
- Strong leadership experience in managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
- Valid driver's license.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute complex projects focused on Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) permitting, compliance, water quality monitoring, and field inspections.
- Develop comprehensive project charters, realistic milestones, and resource-allocated budgets.
- Act as the central hub connecting Subject Matter Experts, permit writers, inspectors, and legal/technical staff.
- Oversee the analysis, interpretation, and quality assurance of surface water quality data.
- Translate environmental data and regulatory requirements into actionable reports and presentations for leadership and the public.
- Collaborate with federal, state, local agencies, and tribal nations to advance surface water protection initiatives.
- Provide daily guidance and mentorship to multidisciplinary teams.
