Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering.
- 3+ years managing data engineering, machine learning, and data science teams.
- Hands-on experience managing GCP data infrastructure.
- Extensive proficiency with columnar SQL warehouses (BigQuery or Snowflake).
- Experience with ELT tools like Dataform or dbt.
- Expertise in orchestrators like Apache Airflow.
- Proven experience designing complex SQL/Python pipelines using frameworks like Dataflow or Spark.
- Deep familiarity with software engineering best practices, including Docker/Kubernetes and CI/CD.
- Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools like Datadog or New Relic.
- Track record of guiding teams through the full ML lifecycle (MLOps).
- Strong communication skills for stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead, hire, and coach a team of data engineers and applied data scientists.
- Partner with cross-functional leaders to translate business needs into technical requirements and prioritize initiatives.
- Serve as a thought partner on leveraging data, AI, and automation to enhance product experiences.
- Drive the architecture and delivery of scalable batch and streaming pipelines and productionized ML models.
- Oversee system orchestration, transformation, and performance troubleshooting.
- Champion data reliability, governance, privacy, and compliance.
- Build tools for data cataloging and self-service to democratize data assets.
