Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering or a related role.
- Basic understanding of vulnerability management concepts (CVEs, CVSS, remediation, patch cycles).
- Foundational knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
- Familiarity with networking concepts (IP addresses, ports, firewalls, traffic flows).
- Exposure to vulnerability scanning tools such as Nessus, Qualys, or OpenVAS.
- Introductory scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate technical documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT, or a related field preferred.
- Valued certifications: CompTIA Security+, CompTIA IT Fundamentals, or cloud/security fundamentals.
- Willingness to travel up to 20%, including to Fort Worth, Texas.
Responsibilities
- Run vulnerability scans using platforms such as Nessus, Qualys, or similar tools.
- Track, triage, research, and document vulnerabilities across enterprise systems, cloud environments, and applications.
- Research CVEs and support risk prioritization by assessing business and technical impact.
- Coordinate and track patch deployment across servers, endpoints, and network devices.
- Maintain runbooks, procedures, and documentation for vulnerability and patch management processes.
- Support security and compliance documentation related to frameworks such as NIST and SOX.
- Partner with SOC and IT teams to align patching priorities with incident response activities.
- Develop foundational scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash to automate security and patch-management activities.
