Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience with production software.
- Proficiency in Python and/or a compiled language such as Rust, C++, or C.
- Comfortable working with algorithms, data structures, and computational problems.
- Ability to translate domain or mathematical concepts into maintainable, testable software.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Comfortable working on software supporting U.S. Government and Department of Defense customers.
Responsibilities
- Refine optimization algorithms for maritime route evaluation.
- Translate vessel performance and fuel-consumption models into software.
- Build simulation and evaluation tooling to test optimizer behavior.
- Improve route recommendation scoring and explainability.
- Collaborate with engineers and domain specialists to solve complex maritime problems.
- Contribute to existing and new software components for government maritime applications.
