Job Details

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, specifically within the insurance or reinsurance sector.
Demonstrated experience managing complex accounting processes with a high degree of independence.
Ability to research accounting issues, exercise sound judgment, and determine appropriate next steps independently.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand both transaction-level details and broader financial impact.
Ability to work effectively in an evolving environment with frequently changing priorities.
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with accounting and non-accounting stakeholders.

Oversee monthly premiums, claims, settlements, and internal and external reporting for all insurance products.
Own assigned insurance-side areas from beginning to end, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
Analyze complex or unusual transactions and determine appropriate accounting treatment with limited supervision.
Partner with senior management on technical accounting, financial reporting, and process improvements.
Mentor and review junior accounting team members to develop analytical skills and accounting fundamentals.
Lead special projects, research accounting issues, and collaborate cross-functionally with finance, tax, and operations.
