Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a backend software engineer.
- Strong understanding of Domain-Driven Design and distributed systems.
- Proficiency with data models and API design (HTTP and RPC).
- Experience with state machines, event-driven architecture, and database design.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience with tech specs and ADRs.
- Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems.
- Proficiency in AWS, gRPC, Snowflake, Kotlin, Python, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
- Prior experience with monitoring and alerting systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and expand the platform backbone to scale to hundreds of thousands of merchants worldwide.
- Align the scope of work with other teams to deliver cross-team projects.
- Mentor other engineers to ensure their professional development and growth.
- Partner with Engineering Manager and Team Lead to drive and execute the long-term team vision.
- Execute technical strategy for broad or complex requirements with forward-looking approaches.
- Utilize agentic development tools to automate parts of the development process.
- Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes throughout the organization.
