Requirements
- JD degree from an accredited law school.
- Experience advising mortgage lenders, financial institutions, or fintechs on consumer credit lending issues.
- Competence as a lawyer with the ability to manage heavy workloads in high-pressure environments.
- Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide proactive counsel and sound, reasoned recommendations.
- Proactive, self-starting, and urgent professional mindset.
- Experience handling mortgage/HELOC products, legal issues, litigation, and consumer complaints preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage legal, regulatory, and product issues related to mortgage and HELOC financial products.
- Coordinate with outside counsel and various internal business units.
- Provide advice on debt collection, privacy, consumer credit compliance, and solar financing.
- Ensure company compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Support business units with consumer credit lending and related products.
