Requirements
- 5+ years of experience designing, building, shipping, and maintaining complex full-stack software.
- Fluency in Python and JavaScript or a strong willingness to learn and specialize.
- Experience working in a startup environment or ability to operate effectively in ambiguity.
- Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Fundamentals of computer science (degree or equivalent experience).
- Commitment to building reliable, scalable, and maintainable software.
- Eagerness to participate in team discussions, design reviews, and code reviews.
- Passion for improving government benefits delivery and helping low-income Americans.
Responsibilities
- Build software systems used by millions of low-income Americans.
- Develop iOS and Android apps using Vue, TypeScript, and Capacitor.
- Create server-side software using Python and Flask, backed by Postgres and Redis.
- Scope and execute innovative product features in collaboration with Product and Design teams.
- Contribute to technical architecture, internal tooling, and scalable integrations with government systems.
- Participate in an on-call rotation.
- Contribute to engineering culture through code reviews, design docs, and mentorship.
