Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in public relations or corporate communications.
- Experience managing relationships with an external PR agency.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills across various content types (press releases, bylines, talking points).
- Strong project management skills to build and execute action plans for concurrent initiatives.
- Sound news judgment and ability to identify compelling stories and award opportunities.
- Collaborative and relationship-driven approach to cross-functional work.
- Prior experience at a technology services company or in the SLED space is preferred.
- Prior experience managing or mentoring direct reports is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Write, edit, and refine press releases, executive bylines, media pitches, and soundbite copy that reflect brand voice.
- Develop action plans that translate PR and communications strategy into clear, time-bound execution steps.
- Collaborate with external PR agencies to execute strategic initiatives aligned with business goals.
- Support internal communications efforts, ensuring consistent, timely, and brand-aligned messaging.
- Research award and recognition opportunities and draft compelling submission narratives.
- Partner with cross-functional groups including Sales, HR, and Operations on targeted communication programs.
- Manage, coach, and develop a direct report.
- Track and report on PR and communications performance metrics.
