Requirements
- 6+ years in product management with software products personally shipped as the PM of record.
- Experience developing software products in the grocery retail or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry.
- Proven zero-to-one product thinker with experience taking products from concept to first release and revenue.
- Strong customer discovery skills with the ability to conduct structured interviews and validate problem statements.
- Technical fluency with data, APIs, and AI/LLM-based systems sufficient to scope with engineering.
- Ability to align scientists, engineers, executives, and external partners without formal authority.
- Exceptional written and facilitation skills for creating concept briefs and specs.
- Curiosity and scientific literacy.
- Genuine interest in food, nutrition, or health data is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Own new product development for the grocery retail and CPG industry end to end, from first customer conversation through concept, validation, MVP, and launch.
- Run continuous discovery with retailers, CPG brands, category managers, and merchandisers to identify problems and validate willingness to pay.
- Define lean, testable MVPs, write requirements, and ensure fast iteration based on market feedback.
- Translate data assets into product experiences that grocery retailers and CPG brands will adopt.
- Lead pilot engagements with early retail and CPG partners to convert them into repeatable products.
- Create clear, well-structured documentation including concept briefs, specs, user stories, and decision logs.
- Collaborate with Science, Data, and Engineering teams to manage agile ceremonies and prioritization.
- Define success metrics and acceptance criteria for launches, including evaluation frameworks for AI/LLM features.
- Support demos, RFP responses, and commercial follow-ups with prospective customers.
