Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing high-performing engineering teams across multiple domains.
  • At least 8 years of professional hands-on software engineering experience in backend, infrastructure, or developer tooling.
  • Demonstrated track record of hiring, retaining, and developing experienced engineers.
  • Strong experience prioritizing competing roadmaps, operational demands, and engineering capacity.
  • Solid understanding of backend/distributed systems, APIs, event-driven architectures, data stores, and cloud-native infrastructure.
  • Experience with CI/build-system concepts, containerization, artifact workflows, and supply-chain security.
  • Experience leading production systems, including on-call operations, incident response, and SLOS.
  • Strong product judgment and ability to shape roadmaps collaboratively with Product stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functionally across European and US time zones.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote-first environment with strong autonomy and organizational judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Secure Build and SCS Services teams, taking ownership of delivery, team health, professional growth, performance, hiring, retention, and operational excellence.
  • Build a coherent portfolio plan across two distinct roadmaps, managing priorities, capacity, trade-offs, risks, and dependencies.
  • Partner with Product and other stakeholders to shape strategy for secure build infrastructure, developer security services, and platform capabilities.
  • Contribute meaningfully to architecture discussions, design reviews, and production incidents.
  • Guide technical direction collaboratively with Staff and senior engineers while maintaining clear decision ownership.
  • Establish strong interfaces between teams, including service contracts, trust boundaries, and operational ownership.
  • Balance product delivery with reliability investments, observability, and on-call operations.
  • Coach and develop engineers while building succession depth and team performance.
