Requirements
- 5+ years of experience bringing machine learning to production at scale.
- Strong proficiency in Python with experience in production-grade software engineering practices like testing, code review, and version control.
- Experience with classification and prediction problems using behavioral, event, or user activity data.
- Strong SQL skills with experience working directly against production data sources.
- Experience with feature engineering, including feature definition and standardization.
- Proven experience monitoring model quality after deployment and responding to drift.
- Understanding of tradeoffs between sophistication, speed, and reliability in ML models.
- Knowledge of time series analysis or hidden state models is a plus.
- Experience with parallel dataframes such as Dask or Spark is a plus.
- Familiarity with cloud environments like GCP or AWS and containerized infrastructure like Docker or Kubernetes is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Formulate machine learning problems from initial concepts to shipped, monitored models.
- Perform feature engineering, including defining, standardizing, and validating features for production.
- Develop and deploy models for user role prediction and activity classification based on behavioral event data.
- Conduct cross-account benchmarking to derive insights from aggregate usage patterns.
- Monitor model quality post-deployment, addressing drift and degradation issues.
- Partner with Data Engineers to integrate models into durable, scalable production systems.
- Make pragmatic tradeoffs between model sophistication, business value, reliability, latency, and cost.
