Requirements
- 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale.
- Proficiency in Python or Kotlin.
- Track record of developing highly available distributed systems.
- Experience with AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of web and mobile layers, including backend-for-frontend and fraud prevention patterns.
- Strong ability to define technical plans for significant features with extensible and simple designs.
- Proficient at making significant changes in large codebases while maintaining safety.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Own and deliver quarterly goals for the team, guiding engineers through ambiguity and solving open-ended problems.
- Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics teams to participate in ideation and articulate technical constraints.
- Proactively identify and lead the resolution of project, process, technology, or business issues.
- Maintain high availability of systems through metrics, monitoring, and active participation in on-call efforts.
- Foster team quality by setting or improving code review and design standards through writing and tech talks.
- Develop team talent by providing regular feedback, guidance, and mentorship.
