Requirements

  • ATA Certified or DSHS LTC Certified in the target language pair.
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in legal terminology, judicial procedures, and court forms.
  • Adherence to the ATA Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility.
  • Minimum of two years of experience providing written translations to U.S. state courts and judicial offices.
  • Fluent in English and the target language.
  • Experience and ability to use modern CAT tools (XTM).
  • Proficiency with PC and MAC formats including MS Word, Adobe Acrobat, PDFs with fillable fields, rich text, and XML/text blocks.
  • Must own a reliable desktop PC or laptop with a dedicated, secure, high-speed internet connection.
  • Ability to accommodate fast turnarounds for small word count projects.

Responsibilities

  • Provide purely human written translations using a Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tool.
  • Adhere to all project work instructions, glossaries, and reference materials.
  • Ensure source content is culturally and linguistically appropriate for the target language.
  • Perform language quality check steps to ensure error-free, accurate translations.
  • Deliver completed jobs by specified deadlines and within project budgets.
  • Review formatted target language PDF files for accuracy using Adobe mark-up tools.
  • Communicate professionally and in a timely manner with Prisma team members.
  • Participate in quality management processes such as Corrective Action Reports and Root Cause Analyses.
  • Protect and maintain privacy of sensitive information such as PHI, PII, and SBU.
