Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 12+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Extensive expertise in networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.
- Demonstrated experience designing and deploying secure network infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of VPN technologies, virtual appliances, hypervisors, cloud platforms, and identity and access management protocols and tools.
- Deep understanding of security standards, frameworks, and best practices, including familiarity with NIST standards and FedRAMP compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or Go, with a strong focus on secure software development.
- Experience designing and developing both on-premises and cloud-based appliances.
- Strong understanding of network and application security architecture, threat identification, vulnerability management, and risk mitigation.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical and security problems through structured analysis and engineering solutions.
- Proven experience providing technical leadership and mentoring engineers.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of secure network and security solutions, translating business and technical requirements into scalable functional designs.
- Establish, maintain, and promote security standards, procedures, guidelines, and engineering practices across the product portfolio.
- Evaluate network, security, cloud, and related technologies and recommend solutions aligned with industry best practices and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Identify security and network risks within existing architectures and implementations and drive effective remediation strategies.
- Partner with audit, vulnerability assessment, and penetration testing teams to prioritize findings and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
- Review software written in C, C++, Python, and Go while establishing processes and standards that strengthen secure coding practices.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineers developing innovative user access and security solutions.
- Collaborate with development, product, support, sales engineering, architecture, and other stakeholders to integrate security into product design and development.
- Guide teams in meeting FedRAMP and comparable security and compliance requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
- Monitor emerging developments across networking, cloud, security, and software engineering and translate relevant advances into product and architectural improvements.
