Requirements
- 10+ years in software engineering with clear evidence of operating at principal level.
- Expert-level proficiency in Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Strong understanding of Node.js runtime, event loop, and asynchronous programming.
- Experience designing services with frameworks like Express, NestJS, or Fastify.
- Hands-on experience with microservices and event-driven architecture.
- Strong knowledge of caching (Redis) and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS/SNS).
- Deep experience in at least one primary cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Strong understanding of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Experience with relational (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB) databases.
- Proven experience decomposing monoliths into distributed systems.
- Deep understanding of CI/CD, DevOps practices, and observability.
Responsibilities
- Own the architecture and lifecycle of critical systems from design through production.
- Design and build high-scale, distributed services using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Lead the decomposition of monolithic systems into microservices.
- Act as a technical authority by evaluating and introducing frameworks and engineering practices.
- Design robust, versioned, and well-governed APIs (REST/GraphQL/event-driven).
- Drive best practices for observability, CI/CD, and automated testing.
- Mentor senior and mid-level engineers to elevate team capability.
- Partner with product and executive stakeholders to align technical strategy.
