Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • 0-2 years of experience as in-house counsel, government experience, or experience at a nationally recognized law firm.
  • Admitted to practice in California or admitted in another state with the ability to obtain in-house counsel registration in California.
  • Experience in contract law with strong drafting, review, and proofing skills.
  • Understanding of key contract provisions, including indemnities, limitations of liability, intellectual property, and warranties.
  • Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships in a fast-moving environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Windows) and document comparison tools.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Available for limited travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Review, negotiate, and manage third-party contracts such as master services, commercial, consulting, confidentiality, collaboration, and supply agreements.
  • Manage, analyze, and develop contract templates in accordance with company policies.
  • Support and advise internal clients on contract management systems and processes.
  • Collaborate with in-house attorneys and paralegals to meet departmental goals.
  • Create and conduct legal training for employees and internal clients regarding contract processes and policies.
  • Research and provide recommendations to business partners for resolving legal and business issues.
  • Prepare contract summaries and issue lists for executives.
  • Monitor compliance with internal company business and legal processes.
