Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science or a related field.
- Deep understanding of concurrent programming and building high-performance, scalable distributed systems.
- Experience with cloud environments.
- Full-stack proficiency with at least one modern backend language (Java, C#, Go, or Python) and familiarity with modern front-end frameworks.
- Experience coding with AI tools such as Cursor, Codex, Claude, or Open Code.
- Ability to analyze operational data and experiment results to validate technical decisions.
- Experience building tools or abstractions for engineering teams.
- Comfort with rational trade-offs between non-functional requirements and delivery speed.
- Proven ability to build cross-disciplinary relationships and communicate technical trade-offs.
- Openness to working within the Java ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical design and implementation of highly visible features while balancing security, privacy, and performance.
- Work with Product and Data partners to translate high-level business goals into clear technical specifications.
- Serve as the technical lead for multi-quarter initiatives.
- Set code quality standards, lead review processes, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
- Utilize AI tools to plan approaches, decompose work, and set standards for monitoring and reliability.
- Define operational strategies and design fault-tolerant, scalable architectures.
- Optimize systems by simplifying, consolidating, or retiring legacy code.
