Requirements
- PhD in ecology or equivalent, or in the process of completing one.
- Excellent written English.
- Effective and clear communication skills.
- Keen eye for detail.
- Good organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to network and willingness to use it for sourcing blog content.
- Ability to identify gaps in content and devise new initiatives.
- Tenacity and self-motivation.
- Experience of contributing to a scientific blog or similar (desired).
- Experience with social media (desired).
- Experience with podcasting and video editing (desired).
Responsibilities
- Commission or write 2-3 blog posts per month, including author-led research pieces, blog series, and broader trends or debate articles.
- Proofread and edit draft posts to ensure scientific robustness and alignment with the blog's style and tone.
- Assist with copy-editing and publishing research summaries on an ad-hoc basis.
- Attend a monthly online meeting to discuss plans and develop new content ideas.
- Provide copy for social media promotion and actively help manage the journal’s social media accounts.
- Promote the journal and blog at relevant conferences, meetings, or workshops as requested.
