Requirements
- Staff/Principal-level software engineering experience or equivalent.
- Deep background in Python or TypeScript / JavaScript.
- Hands-on experience using AI coding tools like OpenAI Codex, Claude Code, or Cursor.
- Deep familiarity with modern AI-assisted development workflows.
- Ability to evaluate code and logic without needing to execute or perform exhaustive line-by-line review.
- Comfortable providing direct, opinionated, and subjective but rigorous feedback.
- High standards for professional engineering judgment.
- Prior exposure to prompt design or evaluation workflows (nice-to-have).
- Experience mentoring senior engineers or defining engineering standards (nice-to-have).
Responsibilities
- Evaluate AI-generated coding interactions end-to-end.
- Judge whether model outputs are useful, correct, and aligned with strong engineering thought processes.
- Assess the quality of model explanations and reasoning beyond just code correctness.
- Distinguish between varying levels of response quality.
- Provide clear, opinionated feedback on what works, what fails, and what feels misleading.
- Help define standards for 'great' engineering interactions with AI tools.
