Requirements
- Minimum of 8-12 years relevant experience in child welfare or a related field.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a related field.
- 8 years of experience with CFSR-related child welfare programs, including work in federal, state, or local public child welfare programs.
- 5 years of experience with CFSR and PIP process, including experience applying the federal Onsite Review Instrument (OSRI).
- 5 years of experience analyzing information and data to communicate findings.
- Ability to pass a federal background check to serve in a position of public trust.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to manage and adapt to competing priorities, perspectives, and stakeholder needs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to exercise good judgment, discretion, tact, and diplomacy.
- Preferred: Master’s Degree in Social Work or a related field.
- Preferred: Experience working in a federal contracting environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Children’s Bureau (CB) in implementing all aspects of the CFSR in the assigned region.
- Prepare states for participation in reviews and conduct onsite/secondary case reviews.
- Review and provide feedback on assessments, progress reports, and correspondence.
- Document, track, and monitor state review and program improvement activities.
- Interview agency staff, partners, and stakeholders to assess system functioning.
- Support states in developing, implementing, and monitoring Program Improvement Plans (PIP).
- Analyze CFSR data indicators and case review data to support state performance planning.
- Support the development of Continuous Quality Improvement systems and the application of the federal Onsite Review Instrument (OSRI).
- Coordinate collaboration among CB, state agencies, legal/judicial partners, and tribal communities.
- Identify regional trends and technical assistance needs through research and report generation.
