- Minimum five years of post-training clinical practice; five to fifteen years is the ideal band
Requirements
- Nurse Practitioner (MSN/DNP) with national certification as FNP, AGACNP, or ENP.
- Physician Assistant (MPAS or equivalent) with NCCPA certification.
- Minimum five years of post-training clinical practice in a busy, high-acuity emergency department.
- Prior ED experience at facilities with annual volumes preferably above 45,000 visits.
- Active, unencumbered license in at least one of Texas, Georgia, or Florida.
- Active DEA registration.
- Reliable high-speed internet for video calls and a private, HIPAA-compliant workspace.
- Strongly preferred: Experience in a Level I or II Trauma Center or Academic Medical Center.
- Strongly preferred: Bilingual Spanish/English.
- Strongly preferred: Prior telehealth, nurse triage, EMS, or prehospital experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide virtual care via the RightSite platform to patients who sought emergency services through 911/EMS.
- Act as a triage clinician in the virtual setting, directing patients to alternate destinations or treating via telehealth when clinically appropriate.
- Perform focused assessments using patient-reported symptoms, EMS field findings, and video observation.
- Identify red flags requiring immediate 911 response, ED evaluation, or physician involvement.
- Prescribe medications and coordinate with pharmacies as needed.
- Collaborate with non-clinical Navigators and nurses to manage call handling and clinical care.
- Document assessments, decision-making, and patient education clearly and contemporaneously.
