Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating backend applications.
- Strong, recent production experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
- Experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems and microservice architectures.
- Hands-on experience developing and operating asynchronous, message-based systems.
- Strong experience developing and maintaining RESTful APIs.
- Experience working with NoSQL databases including partitioning and consistency.
- Hands-on experience developing and operating production applications on Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices.
- Ability to investigate production issues using telemetry, logs, metrics, and traces.
- Strong understanding of operational excellence, reliability, and scalable system design.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Design and evolve large-scale distributed systems and microservices supporting business-critical workflows.
- Build cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure using Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, and Cosmos DB.
- Develop event-driven services and asynchronous processing pipelines addressing distributed-system concerns like idempotency and retries.
- Build and maintain high-performance REST APIs supporting customer- and associate-facing applications.
- Diagnose production performance issues using logs, metrics, traces, and application performance monitoring.
- Improve observability, scalability, resilience, and operational efficiency across backend systems.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Product, UX, Mobile, and Frontend.
