Requirements
- Solid experience supporting, maintaining, and evolving SaaS products in production environments.
- Strong expertise in Node.js, including memory management, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Extensive experience with NestJS for new development, and maintaining applications in Express and Koa.
- Advanced TypeScript knowledge, including OOP/functional programming practices and maintainable code design.
- Practical experience designing and supporting event-driven and asynchronous architectures using Apache Kafka or AWS SQS.
- Strong experience with MongoDB, including data modeling, aggregation, and query optimization.
- Experience with application observability and DevOps practices including OpenTelemetry and Datadog.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices.
- Previous experience providing technical leadership, facilitating engineering decisions, and influencing teams.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a structured approach to production problems.
- Experience mentoring engineers and promoting technical best practices.
Responsibilities
- Act as a senior technical reference for backend development, platform stability, and technical decision-making.
- Serve as the final technical escalation level (N3) for complex incidents involving SaaS applications, messaging systems, and communication platforms.
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex production issues with a focus on reducing MTTR and improving availability.
- Maintain and evolve high-throughput, low-latency messaging systems with a focus on resilience, scalability, and performance.
- Identify technical debt and lead refactoring or modernization initiatives while maintaining business continuity.
- Automate repetitive operational activities and reduce engineering toil through tooling and process improvements.
- Develop and maintain detailed runbooks and technical documentation to increase operational autonomy.
- Mentor N1 and N2 teams through training and knowledge sharing to reduce unnecessary escalations.
- Establish engineering best practices regarding software design, testing, code reviews, and reliability.
- Collaborate with SRE and product teams to translate requirements into scalable and robust software solutions.
