Requirements

  • Proficiency in machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, and LightGBM.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Familiarity with data pipeline tools such as Airflow or dbt.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI and dashboard development.
  • Familiarity with geospatial data, telematics, or catastrophe modeling.
  • Understanding of insurance industry trends, regulatory requirements, and model governance.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities.
  • Design, develop, and deploy predictive models for underwriting, pricing, claims, and customer retention.
  • Design and implement data pipelines and automated reporting tools.
  • Collaborate with actuarial, underwriting, claims, and product teams to translate business problems into data science solutions.
  • Communicate data insights and recommendations to leadership through data storytelling and visualization.
  • Monitor and maintain model performance while ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Explore new data sources, modeling techniques, and technologies to enhance business performance.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data quality, accessibility, and scalability.
