Requirements
- Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling or equivalent degree.
- Board certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling or the American Board of Medical Genetics.
- Two or more years of clinical genetic counseling experience.
- Exceptional communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Adaptability to a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with Google suite of work products.
- Must complete HIPAA/PHI privacy and security training within 30 days of hire.
Responsibilities
- Provide genetic counseling to patients via telephone and/or video.
- Review personal and family medical history and conduct genetic risk assessments.
- Discuss relevant testing options, including benefits, risks, and limitations.
- Document sessions, perform call-outs of results, and manage follow-ups.
- Answer inquiries from health care providers.
- Assist in the development of GC protocols, SOPs, and patient education materials.
- Represent the company at trade shows and scientific meetings with <10% travel.
- Maintain required GC licensure in assigned states.
