Requirements
- Completion of a formal training program in Nursing.
- Current State of Louisiana Registered Nurse License.
- 3 years clinical experience in an acute care setting.
- Documented experience in Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI).
- Advanced clinical expertise and knowledge of complex disease processes.
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications and keyboard for data entry.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to present information clearly and professionally.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a liaison between the CDI Department customers and CDI Leadership.
- Act as a clinical and technical resource for CDS staff, providing guidance and answering questions on non-administrative issues.
- Observe, prioritize, and re-route daily department workflow according to Operational Standards.
- Maintain responsibility for running operational reports and forwarding key metrics to leadership.
- Facilitate special record reviews, projects, and other customer requests.
- Perform medical record reviews during patient admission and throughout their stay to ensure documentation completeness and accuracy.
- Provide consultation and education to departmental staff.
- Support and participate in physician and hospital performance improvement initiatives.
