Requirements
- 4–8 years of experience in broadband, telecommunications, network systems, GIS workflows, or infrastructure analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Expert understanding of broadband technologies, including fiber (FTTH, GPON, XGS-PON) and fixed wireless systems.
- Working knowledge of PON architectures, DOCSIS environments, and wireless network infrastructure.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation, network materials, and ISP-submitted program data.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with GIS tools such as ArcGIS or QGIS is highly desired.
- Experience with BEAD or CPF broadband programs and grant administration is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Support consulting engagements for state broadband offices, municipalities, and other public-sector clients.
- Review and assess broadband network-related data, service data, and deployment records.
- Analyze broadband serviceable locations and project areas using GIS tools and spreadsheets to identify trends and risks.
- Evaluate broadband technologies including fiber, PON-based systems, DOCSIS, and fixed/mobile wireless.
- Support technical review of broadband grant applications and verification/challenge process activities.
- Prepare technical memoranda, reports, and presentations for public-sector stakeholders.
- Coordinate field teams conducting broadband validation activities and provide guidance on procedures.
- Provide day-to-day technical support to project managers, analysts, and field personnel.
