Requirements

  • Deep understanding of deep learning fundamentals: optimization, initialization, normalization, and attention mechanisms.
  • Strong command of the underlying mathematics: linear algebra, probability, and statistics.
  • Proficiency in Python and PyTorch, with experience using NumPy and pandas.
  • Hands-on experience managing GPU infrastructure, including CUDA, containers, and cloud instances (AWS).
  • Experience working with time-ordered data, including backtest hygiene and distribution shift.
  • Ability to read, reproduce, and debug research papers.
  • Strong written communication skills for summarizing experiments and findings.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and shipping personal projects.
  • Capacity to work independently in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full research project lifecycle from desk idea to production-ready models.
  • Develop, train, and improve deep-learning models on market data.
  • Manage personal compute infrastructure, including local GPU workstations or AWS instances.
  • Implement leakage-proof evaluation protocols on time-ordered data.
  • Read, reproduce, and summarize relevant research papers in foundation models, time-series, and RL.
  • Use modern AI tools to accelerate code, data wrangling, and literature review workflows.
