Requirements
- Deep understanding of deep learning fundamentals including optimization, initialization, normalization, and attention.
- Strong command of the underlying mathematics: linear algebra, probability, and statistics.
- Strong and idiomatic Python and PyTorch skills.
- Experience with data manipulation using NumPy and pandas.
- Practical experience setting up and managing GPU infrastructure (e.g., CUDA, containers, storage, monitoring).
- Familiarity with time-ordered data, including backtest hygiene and handling distribution shift.
- Demonstrated experience reproducing research papers.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fully remote environment.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Low ego and ability to take and incorporate feedback.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end research loop from initial idea to production-ready models.
- Build, train, and improve deep-learning models on market data.
- Configure and maintain GPU compute environments locally or on AWS.
- Perform rigorous model evaluation, including leakage-proof validation and regime-aware testing.
- Read, reproduce, and synthesize recent research in foundation models, time-series, and reinforcement learning.
- Document findings clearly to support team decision-making.
- Utilize modern AI tools to accelerate coding, literature review, and data wrangling.
