Requirements
- Solid experience with a systems programming language (e.g., Go, Rust, C, C++, Python, Java).
- Experience building and operating distributed systems and cloud services in production.
- Strong product sense with the ability to translate customer feedback into technical deliverables.
- Experience managing multi-tenant data systems at scale.
- Operational mindset with experience in SRE-style work, infrastructure as code, and on-call rotations.
- Strong software craftsmanship with a focus on writing clean, robust, and maintainable code.
- Pragmatic approach to problem-solving, breaking complex issues into short feedback loops.
- Ability to communicate clearly and lead through writing and documentation in an asynchronous remote environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects from concept to rollout including design, delivery, operations, and customer follow-up.
- Design, build, and operate core components of a distributed database such as ingestion, storage, and query.
- Act as product owner by joining customer calls, translating pain points into deliverables, and steering the product roadmap.
- Drive operational excellence by owning outcomes against SLOs and unit cost targets.
- Partner with other engineering squads to integrate profiling into broader observability workflows.
- Support teammates through design discussions, code reviews, and pair programming.
- Participate in an EMEA on-call rotation for services built.
- Contribute to the Pyroscope open-source project by reviewing external contributions and community engagement.
