Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in Python and extensive experience building production applications with Django
- Experience designing and building REST APIs and integrating with third-party platforms and external systems
- Strong understanding of relational databases, particularly MySQL, and ORM patterns
- Experience designing scalable, maintainable backend services in a SaaS environment
- Experience with event-driven architectures, asynchronous processing, or messaging platforms such as Kafka, Celery, or similar technologies
- Proven ability to independently lead technical initiatives from architecture and design through production
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and production support experience across distributed systems and integrations
- Experience using Git and modern collaborative software development workflows
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical considerations for both technical and non-technical partners
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend services and applications using Python and Django that power customer provisioning, permissions/packaging, self-service purchasing, and subscription lifecycle workflows
- Design and implement APIs and event-driven integrations between Muck Rack, Salesforce Revenue Cloud, Stripe, RightRev, and other business systems
- Lead the evolution of Muck Rack's internal integration platform, designing scalable services that reliably translate commercial events into product actions and customer experiences
- Partner closely with Product, Revenue Operations, Finance, and Salesforce implementation partners to define integration patterns, API contracts, event models, and scalable technical solutions
- Lead the technical design and delivery of medium-to-large engineering initiatives from architecture through production
- Improve the reliability, observability, scalability, and performance of revenue-critical services
- Troubleshoot complex production issues across systems and establish patterns that improve platform resilience
