Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in Information Technology, or 2+ years of hands-on experience specifically focused on incident detection and response.
  • Practical experience investigating and responding to security events and cybersecurity incidents.
  • Solid understanding of computer systems, infrastructure, and common security attack vectors.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Knowledge of common defensive security controls and how they are applied to protect enterprise environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex technical challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify security risks and develop practical remediation approaches.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with security monitoring and technologies such as SIEM and EDR.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment and provide leadership during critical security incidents.

Responsibilities

  • Lead investigations and response activities involving security alerts, cybersecurity incidents, phishing attempts, malware, and other threats.
  • Coordinate with infrastructure, cloud, application, and business teams to contain, remediate, and recover from security incidents.
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation and provide technical leadership during high-severity security events.
  • Conduct threat hunting and proactive security analysis to identify emerging threats and indicators of compromise.
  • Tune and optimize security alerts across monitoring platforms to improve detection fidelity and reduce false positives.
  • Develop and maintain incident response procedures, playbooks, and operational workflows.
  • Provide recommendations to business stakeholders on security risks, control improvements, and remediation priorities.
  • Assist with the implementation and operationalization of security technologies, including SIEM and EDR platforms.
  • Analyze incident trends to identify systemic security issues and recommend strategic improvements.
