Requirements
- Genuine AI-first development capability and experience leading AI development transformations.
- Strong technical foundation in infrastructure, architecture, and platform operations.
- Experience with hybrid, on-premise, or district-managed deployment models.
- Demonstrated product instincts and ability to define roadmaps with commercial logic.
- Proven team-building experience in small, complex environments.
- Change management maturity with a track record of moving long-tenured teams toward new ways of working.
- Low-ego, high-accountability leadership approach.
- Ability to work in Pacific Time.
- Strong preference for K–12 software or EdTech experience.
- Strong preference for legacy modernization experience, particularly with VB.NET.
- Strong preference for prior experience at companies under 200 employees.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the multi-year product and technology roadmap.
- Establish formal product management discipline, prioritization frameworks, and release planning.
- Lead the implementation of AI-first development practices across the engineering team.
- Define and execute an AI product strategy focused on practical, explainable capabilities for school districts.
- Lead a team of approximately eight direct reports across development and database administration.
- Build team structure, shared processes, and cross-functional visibility.
- Own platform architecture strategy across cloud, hybrid, and on-premise deployment models.
- Define and execute a modernization roadmap for legacy VB.NET software.
- Partner with the Director of Customer Success to ensure roadmap decisions reflect real operational workflows.
