Requirements
- MD or DO degree.
- Board certification.
- American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM) diplomate status.
- Licensed to practice and prescribe legally in Mississippi, Missouri, or Alabama.
- Valid Letter of Qualification (LOQ) through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) or meeting all prerequisites to secure one upon hire.
- Prior experience conducting telemedicine visits.
- Prior experience working collaboratively with advanced practice professionals and registered dietitians.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for patient and team interactions.
- Commitment to evidence-based approach to obesity management.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care focusing on evidence-based obesity treatment and chronic weight management.
- Collaborate with Registered Dietitians and advanced practice professionals to ensure quality team-based care.
- Provide treatment planning and medical management support for complex cases.
- Prescribe non-controlled obesity medications for patients under direct care.
- Ensure consistent clinical documentation and adherence to treatment pathways.
- Assist in the professional development and clinical growth of advanced practice professionals.
- Participate in a rotating after-hours call schedule.
- Attend departmental meetings and contribute to quality improvement efforts.
